Most of the games are made so that the teacher can reinforce any skill that needs practicing: vocabulary words, braille contractions, math facts, and more! You make up the cards and the games will provide the fun!

Skill Application: Braille word contractions
Object: To acquire all of the braille chips by reading the contractions correctly.

Materials:

  • Non-slip pad
  • Poker chips with braille word contractions (using clear labels) or contraction cards.
  • Plastic pointer

To Play:

  • Scatter the chips on the non-slip pad
  • The student tosses the pointer onto the mat, picks up the chip that is closest to the pointer and reads the contraction.
  • If the student is correct he/she keeps the chip.
  • If the student is incorrect, the chip is placed back on the mat.
