Skill Application: Sequencing

Materials:

  • Mat board
  • Velcro
  • Variety of objects

Place 3 Velcro squares across the middle of one side of the mat board. Place 4 Velcro squares across the middle of the other side. Place Velcro on objects.

How to use:
For the side with 3 Velcro squares:

  • Have the child choose any object or a specific object. (E.g. find something red, find a rectangle, find something smooth, etc.)
  • Then have the child place it first, in the middle or last.
  • Repeat until all squares are covered.
  • Remove objects and repeat procedure mixing up objects and sequences.

For the side with 4 Velcro squares:

  • Play as above, but have the child place objects 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.
